ABOUT ME
I am a senior staff scientist at the Space Telescope Science Institute since September 2020.
Before that, I was the system and operations scientist for the Maunakea Spectroscopic Explorer (MSE) project at the Canada-France-Hawaii Telescope (CFHT) Corporation in Waimea, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
My job was to prepare the CFHT to enter the next era of ground based telescope by upgrading its primary mirror from a 4m to a 10m class and providing it with a suite of multi-object spectrograph for dedicated survey observations.
My scientific expertise and interest is in the study of interstellar dust, in particular from the observational and modeling point of view.
I also teach at the University of Hawaii in Hilo and mentor students from Hawaii and beyond.
